I will try to offer usable, free information to people thinking about installing renewable energy devices, mostly solar and wind, that is based on my experience, my research, and my opinions,.. founded from the previous two.

If you are thinking of installing a renewable energy system, think long and hard about installing solar first.  From my experience, and from my geographical location (North Central Texas) the solar is just so much more dependable and predictable.  

I had a 3.5 kW wind turbine for two months, which is no more, and now I have a 4.2 kW solar system.  Yet I would very much like to have a wind turbine also, especially when we have those cloudy, windy days.  My budget at the moment does not allow for both, as I am sure, many can relate to.

If you are able to install both wind and solar systems initially, great!

The biggest drawback to wind is the noise, and is the reason I took mine down and replaced it with solar.  Now, not all wind turbines are equal when it comes to noise level.  So I still have hopes of installing one someday that is very quiet.
